One of my first memories of moving to Park Street in 1985 was starting ballet lessons with Miss Pavely and so much of my time for the next 12 years was spent in the Village Hall. I attribute my love for dancing entirely to Caroline and I am so grateful for the time she spent teaching my sister and me over many years. From "good toes and naughty toes" to alley cats, skeletons, morris dancing, the geographical breakdown of the former Yugosalvia and anything else that caught her imagination, there was never a dull moment in class! But not only was Caroline an inspiring teacher, she was also a great friend to our family. She never hesitated to go the extra mile to help someone in need or provide a cheery "What's up, gal?". She even arranged for her Aunt Mina to pick me up at the bus station in Edinburgh on the day I arrived at University for the first time so I would be greeted by a friendly face. Although separated by distance over the last few years, Caroline remained in touch and it was always a joy to see her. It feels like just yesterday she was entertaining our children with a hilarious game of "Frustration". "Sausages, peanuts and raspberries" has become a family expression! Caroline's love for others and her faith in Jesus were such an example to many. While we mourn our loss here, we take comfort that she is with her Lord and Saviour, in a place with no more sickness, or tears, or death. Until we meet again in glory lovely Caroline.
