Caroline welcomed me into her family with wide open arms. She was my confident and ally, and would almost literally bend over backwards for me. When the going was hard her humour and generosity shone through harder. In times of Joy she would lead the celebrations. We often had to stop her from emptying her cupboards when she gave us “care packages” when we would visit. She was one of those great rarities in life: a human who truly cared for others with no hope of reward or recognition. Her strength helped hold families together, her humour resolved tensions, and her generosity was unsurpassable.
