I’d thought I’d write this little ode, especially for you, You’d once told me the best of words can be said through a rhyme or two. Ballet teaching was your passion, I grew up watching in the corner of the Village Hall, Those “good toes” and “naughty toes” exercises, you taught children to balance and not stumble and fall! I will forever remember us dressing up whilst visiting National Trust properties, I will forever remember you practising your arabesques upon fallen trees. I will forever remember us playing pooh sticks as we walked into town, I will forever remember our frantic Saturday mornings before the ticket man started to frown! I will forever remember our camping holidays and how you insisted you had to drive, I will forever remember you reading me stories like the Flower Fairies and the Famous Five. I will forever remember you encouraging me to take on new challenges, I will forever remember you listening and wiping away my tears. Now you’re free to dance in the heavenly courts, but we are all lost without you. So it’s time to say goodbye, in your own special way, so ta ta and toodle-oo!
